Changes Effective November 1, 2021

The McGowan Fund board of directors considers grant requests at three board meetings each year. These meetings are held in April, July, and October.

We must receive your Letter of Inquiry (LOI) or application by 11:59 pm central time on the deadline date to be considered at the corresponding board meeting. If a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, LOIs and applications may be submitted by 11:59 pm on the following business day.

We encourage you to submit in advance of these due dates.

Our application process is based in relationship building and inquiry, as well as in solid goal setting and benchmarks. Accordingly, McGowan staff will also request a conversation to better understand the impact and nuances of your organization’s work.

First-Time Applicants or Nonprofits Who Have Not Received Funding within Last Three Years:

Returning Applicants (Nonprofits Who Have Received Funding within Last Three Years):

No LOI is required if you have received funding and still meet our general rules of eligibility.

Invitations to Apply

Applicants will receive a McGowan Fund response within two business days of LOI submission.
