Current position (2021): Senior research fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to improving the world through disruptive innovation.
His focus: K–12 education
Some of the concerns: The changing roles of teachers in blended-learning environments and other educational models, as well as how teacher education and professional development are shifting as the needs of teachers and school systems evolve.
It’s a natural fit because: When he was in Teach For America, he taught middle school math in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and experimented with blended-learning models.
On the McGowan fellowship, plain and simple: “I gained a great group of friends.”
